This '62 Impala belongs to Jim's friend, Dan. Some may remember the "3-'n-1" AMT 1/25th model kits. Jim thinks it looks like a huge scale model car. Congratulations Dan on replicating the 1960s look! |

1964 Chevy II SS This little car has a 194cid six cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. However, it is 100% original paint! It has a patina of originality that Jim just loved. This auto is a perfect example of an original survivor. Jim feels that this example should not be restored. It is too nice to touch. This actual car will be sought after as an example to authenticate restorations. Jim could not locate the owners to extend his personal compliments to the person(s) who chose to protect this automobile in it's original condition! Rochester Indiana, 11 October 2008 |

OK, so you think you've seen everything.... Right? Then a guy comes walking down the street with a turtle.... No leash, just the guy and the turtle.. Obviously the turtle is aware of who he is with... The guy turns, the turtle turns. This turtle makes pretty good time.. Walks right along with that little stubby tail just a waggin'. The guy stops, the turtle settles down to the ground to rest.. Pretty crazy, and a big turtle at that... My guess is a 75 pounder.. (35 kg) |

In the 1980s, Jim was a regular participant at the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals. Generally speaking, unruly behavior by a few participants brought an end to this yearly summer tradition. At the height of popularity, 5,000 cars were registered entrants. The problems were mostly caused by outsiders coming into town, engaging in street races, and exhibitions of speed. This led local law enforcement and city government officials to ban this event. After being held in Indianapolis, it was moved to Springfield Illinois, then to the Illinois fairgrounds in DuQuion..
